The Steelers select LB Jarvis Jones to solidify their aging defensive core
With the 17th overall pick, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Jarvis Jones, outside linebacker from Georgia.
Scouts believed that Jones would fall to a second day draft pick because of his poor showing at the combine, but the Steelers saw through the workout numbers and found a legitimate edge-rushing force.
Jones should immediately slot in as a starting outside linebacker, and continue to carry on the Steelers tradition of stellar defenders, most recently, James Harrison. Jones is excellent in pursuit, and shouldn't miss a beat at the next level. His only downside is conditioning and opposing team's ability to run directly at him.
