The New England Patriots and defensive end Will Smith came to an agreement Monday, a month after he had visited them. Neither the Patriots nor Will Smith have released the terms as of yet. Not all that surprising, since Belichick has mentioned publicly before that he liked Smith when he came out of Ohio State back in 2004.

Smith had played for the New Orleans Saints his entire career, from 2004-2013. His best year having come in 2009 when he recorded 13 sacks. Smith has 67.5 sacks and 459 tackles over his 10 year career.

The best case scenario for Smith, is he comes in and plays 50 percent of the snaps on the defensive side of the ball. Worst case, he gets cut during the pre-season.

Smith was set to make a little over 11 million dollars in 2014, undoubtedly leading the Saints to drop him. He turns 33 this summer and is coming off an ACL tear, which caused him to miss the entire 2013 season.
