Despite visiting the New England Patriots in recent days, former New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis has reportedly signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears, according to NFL analyst Adam Schefter.

The Bears made a few key moves at the tackle position in the offseason. They brought back DT Nate Collins and signed the Carolina Panthers’ 2009 third-round pick DT Corvey Irvin. The Bears also have a couple undrafted rookie tackles under contract.

Ellis is considered to be a three-technique pass-rushing defensive end, not a run-stopper. The Bears did not immediately release the terms of the deal.
